Music is the universal language. But what happens when music doesn't move you at all?
In a World That Won't Stop Singing follows two people living with musical anhedonia, a rare neurological condition that affects the ability to experience pleasure from music. While most of us form memories through songs, feel excitement before a concert, or get emotional during a live performance, for people with musical anhedonia music falls flat.
The documentary explores what it means to step into a music festival when the main attraction doesn't trigger the emotions everyone else seems to feel. Through curiosity, science, and real-life experiences, it challenges the idea that festivals are only for music lovers.
Created together with researchers from the University of Barcelona, the documentary brings together personal stories and scientific insight to shed light on a little-known condition estimated to affect around 3-5% of people.
Because festivals are about more than music. They're about connection, discovery, community, and finding your own way to experience the world around you.
Together with the University of Barcelona, we're inviting EC people to explore their own relationship with music.
Take the quiz and discover how your brain responds to music. There are no right or wrong answers, just a chance to learn something new about yourself.
