Fever 333: A Rap Rock That Will Make You Love Your Neighbor

As unlikely as it may seem, the evolution of rap rock is in full swing. This hybrid genre culminated at the end of the 90s and beginning of the 2000s with bands such as Limp Bizkit, Korn, P.O.D. or Crazy Town dominating the charts. Things have changed quite a bit since then. This genre, also known as nu metal or rapcore had faded from the focus of the public at large. But this doesn’t mean to say that it can’t still be found.

Fever 333 is the band that has the best combination of rap and rock of our times. Founded relatively recently, in 2017, they got to be the opening act of Bring Me The Horizon and have performed on the stages of the most important European music festivals. They will make their Romanian debut at Electric Castle 8. You need to see them, especially if you care about the BMTH guys’ recommendation, who have already performed twice in Bonțida. It’s easy to see why the Brits chose them. Fever 333 is not just another rapcore band. They’re much more than that:

They have a long history behind them

As already mentioned in the introduction, Fever 333 only have three years of activity and one album, Strength in Numb333rs, launched in 2019. But this doesn’t mean they’re a bunch of rookies. Frontman Jason Aalon Butler was also a member of Letlive, a post-hardcore band signed by Epitaph Records, one of the biggest and most prestigious independent punk labels. Guitarist Stephen Harrison performed in the metalcore project The Chariot, while drummer Aric Importa left Night Verses, a post-rock band. The three have different backgrounds. And you can feel this in their music:

Their style is not just an updated nu metal

It is impossible to compare Fever 333 with Limp Bizkit or any other nu metal band for that matter. This is hard to do even with Bring Me The Horizon or other projects on the metalcore scene. Fever 333 have an original style. They combine rock with metal, hip-hop, post-hardcore, punk and drum and bass. This style is much more experimental than the music of nu metal or metalcore bands, where the recipe is clear. Jason Aalon Butler declared that he had given up Letlive because he wanted to create a project which transcends the barriers imposed by a certain style even though they have a number of similarities with other acts:

Their message is very positive and reminds of Rage Against The Machine

The band’s mantra is simple: ‘Community, charity, change’. They promote a healthy lifestyle, a positive mentality and harmony within communities. You won’t find an ounce of hate in their music, which is great and a breath of fresh air in our days, when we seem to have forgotten how to be tolerant. So they’re more similar to Rage Against The Machine than to Limp Bizkit. Fever 333 donate a part of their concert incomes to various local charitable organizations.

Their concerts are a new level of crazy

It’s not unusual to see Jason climbing on the stage during Fever 333 concerts. This happens after he jumps all over the place and screams at the mic tirelessly. His on-stage performance is impressive. You simply can’t keep up with him, and he does it every night. They sound excellent on Spotify, but you have to see them live to fall in love with them. You’ll be able to do this at Electric Castle 8. Get ready for the toughest cardio session of your life. But also, the best one.
